Calm Down!

Set peace of mind as your highest goal, then set your life to revolve around that. We want our circumstances to change, but for that to take place, we need to do things differently. Philippians 1:28,29 (AMP) says, “And in no way be alarmed or intimidated [in anything] by your opponents, for such [constancy and fearlessness on your part] is a [clear]sign [a proof and a seal] for them of [their impending]destruction, but [a clear sign] for you of deliverance and salvation, and that too, from God. For you have been granted [the privilege] for, Christ’s sake, not only to believe and confidently trust in Him but, also to suffer for His sake.” Calming down is peace on purpose. We can find peace in quietness and confident trust. Don’t make decisions when you are upset. Trust God even more. Adjust to the situation and let emotions subside rather than jump to action. Let God prove Himself. Allow God to make wrong things right in your life. Something that really struck home here is a quote I heard once from Joyce Meyer: “Are you going to fellowship with your problems or fellowship with God?”

Don’t be too hard on yourself if your first reaction isn’t a peaceful thought. We are only human, after all.
